The end of winter

The last weeks of winter bring the emergence of the oxalis, both the pernicious weed that finds its way into almost every planting bed in my garden, as well as this somewhat more decorative variety with its pretty purple leaves. Both kinds of the plant have these delicate little pink blossoms. When we start to see these plants, we know that winter is on its way out the door.
