Wordless Wednesday: Anole among succulents

  1. Wow, great photo! I must admit I didn't know what an anole was, had to look it up, but I guessed it was some sort of lizzard. Don't see many of these around here in London although there are lizzards native to England.

    1. The green anole is the dominant native lizard in this part of Texas, Helene. There are many kinds of anoles, including a brown one which isn't native here but has been introduced to the area and is becoming an invasive problem in some places because it competes with our little green anoles. These little guys are wonderful friends to gardeners, so we do like having them around!

    1. I love their colors - especially the blue "eye shadow"!

  3. Excellent photo. If you forgot about the scale the lizard could be a dinosaur climbing on jurassic plants.

    1. Indeed, they do have that look about them, Jason, and I have hundreds of these little "dinosaurs" in my yard.
