I do use them in cooking, too, but, in truth, the caterpillars probably consume more than I do! One wonderful thing about growing herbs is that - other than the occasional caterpillar munching on them - they are mostly not bothered by insects.Dorothy/Gardening with Naturehttp://gardeningwithnature.blogspot.com/2012/01/rainy-month-of-january.html#comment-formnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2275431955885463071.post-18208465240099176232012-02-02T12:22:14.663-06:002012-02-02T12:22:14.663-06:00I need to plants some dill and fennel. Then they disappeared and I looked to see if I could find their cocoons but I couldn't find them. I hope the birds didn't get them.Jaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09993407315693699146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2275431955885463071.post-31724274015475170722012-02-01T14:48:12.197-06:002012-02-01T14:48:12.197-06:00Well, great minds do think alike, Pammy!Well, great minds do think alike, Pammy!Dorothy/Gardening with Naturehttp://gardeningwithnature.blogspot.com/2012/01/rainy-month-of-january.html#comment-formnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2275431955885463071.post-66426895505905341622012-02-01T13:19:30.338-06:002012-02-01T13:19:30.338-06:00Well I've been trying to get brave enough to g...Well I've been trying to get brave enough to go ahead and prune the roses. Think I will get the shears out as well. I've masses of strawberries, blooms and babies...a late freeze wouldn't be nice for them. Would love a few sweet extras this season. Hope we have a good dewberry season too...since they did horrible last year. The hot sun popping out today ought to really get some seeds germinating!! Love your Cat!!! Our minds are caterpillar connected ;) <3Pammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15093707722407312896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2275431955885463071.post-57878439423138784182012-01-31T17:19:31.644-06:002012-01-31T17:19:31.644-06:00I'm feeling pretty confident that we are not g...I'm feeling pretty confident that we are not going to get any prolonged freezing temperatures to damage our plants this winter, Cindy. That's why I feel pretty safe in getting on with the pruning. If I'm wrong - well, it won't be the first time!Dorothy/Gardening with Naturehttp://gardeningwithnature.blogspot.com/2012/01/rainy-month-of-january.html#comment-formnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2275431955885463071.post-41382843561154691952012-01-31T17:16:20.492-06:002012-01-31T17:16:20.492-06:00Love those caterpillars, Kim! If we get a February freeze, and it kills them, I have plenty of seedlings coming up to take their places!Cindy, MCOKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16094260737874973235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2275431955885463071.post-13528946283004016462012-01-31T15:54:25.243-06:002012-01-31T15:54:25.243-06:00I bought a fennel plant once just because it had c...I bought a fennel plant once just because it had caterpillars on it.
